About RV Inspections

NRVIA RV Inspections

The NRVIA (National Recreational Vehicle Inspectors Association) is an organization that provides RV inspection training, certification, and promotes RV inspection standards and professionalism among its members.

For more information, see Home - NRVIA

NRVIA Inspectors are trained to provide two levels of RV inspections, Premier level and Essentials level. JourneyWorks provides both levels of inspection as well as additional services, such as RV safety inspections and RV orientations. The difference between a Premier inspection and an Essentials inspection is in the level of detail and certain functional tests that are performed.

Premier Inspections

A Premier RV inspection is the most detailed and involved inspection type we offer. This inspection can take a full day to complete, depending on the type of RV.  The final report will include 80 to 100 photos showing the condition of the RV. The report will highlight any observed deficiencies and findings. Click below for a complete list of POI (Points of Inspection).

Essential Inspections

An Essentials RV inspection covers the same items as the Premier inspection level, but with less detail and fewer functional tests. All life safety items are covered just as with the Premier inspection. The final report will include 30 to 50 photos showing the condition of the RV. The report will highlight any observed deficiencies and findings. Click below for a complete list of POI (Points of Inspection).

Safety Inspections

An RV Safety inspection includes the life safety items such as fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, LP gas leak detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. We also examine the tire age, chassis light function and running gear condition along with other safety related items.

RV Orientations

An RV orientation is aimed at those who are less familiar with their vehicle and need a more in depth look at how their RV works and how the various systems function. We also provide tips on how to make your RV venture more enjoyable. The items covered are up to you.
